In November, NASA solicited proposals for the NOIS2 program’s on-ramp process to acquire crowdsourcing and related services to seek new ideas and approaches to help advance the space agency’s mission.
Under the program, contractors should use challenges, crowd-based freelance projects, prize competitions, microtask projects and other crowdsourcing methods to deliver technical platforms, software, multimedia, data science, crowd program formulation, engineering design, public engagement campaigns and other end products and services.
In June 2015, 10 companies won spots on the first iteration of the program and 19 awardees secured positions on the follow-on contract in July 2020.
