John “J.R.” Riordan, a business development leader, has joined Herndon, Virginia-based geospatial intelligence provider BlackSky Technology (NYSE: BKSY) as chief revenue officer.
He will bring his experience in GEOINT and space markets to BlackSky as he oversees strategic partnerships, sales activities and revenue operations, the company said Monday.
“As our chief revenue officer, J.R. will play a pivotal role in building and sustaining our customer pipeline and strengthening our business development operations so that we can deliver first-to-know insights to more customers around the globe,” said BlackSky CEO Brian O’Toole.
Riordan previously worked at Parsons (NYSE: PSN) as a senior vice president for the company’s space and geospatial intelligence business. He is a policy expert and former military strategist who served as a professional staff member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. He also held military and civil leadership positions within the Department of Defense.
BlackSky launched as a public GEOINT company in early September after it completed its merger with Osprey Technology Acquisition.
