Vectrus to Support Navy 5G Implementation; Corinne Minton-Package Quoted

A Vectrus (NYSE: VEC) subsidiary will help Naval Base Coronado implement 5G-ready environmental sensing, robotic material handling and inventory management platforms to support U.S. Navy transshipment activity.

Vectrus Systems will help build the installation’s 5G Smart Warehouse system as part of a $600 million Department of Defense investment to test the new wireless technology at five military facilities in collaboration with commercial and academic sectors, the company said Monday.

The project’s goal is to streamline the process of managing naval logistics process for the Coronado facility.

“This is an opportunity to lend our technological expertise in support of the clients’ migration towards the converged infrastructure market and move away from traditional ways of operating their facilities, supply chains, and networks,” said Corinne Minton-Package, senior vice president of operational technology and enterprise at Vectrus.
