This marks Keene’s third Wash100 Award. She secured her 2019 Wash100 Award for expanding SAIC services into other markets to generate company growth. Keene has continued to strengthen the company and has driven the company to see significant growth since she assumed the role of CEO in March 2019

Most notably, Keene orchestrated the acquisition of Unisys’ federal business unit for $1.2 billion in February 2020. The transaction will add greater value to SAIC by forging new assets and modernizing the company’s technological offerings.

Specifically, Keene noted that the deal will enhance SAIC’s capabilities in modernizing IT, cloud migration, managed services, development, security and operations. The company has also projected portfolio growth of intellectual property and technology-driven products to support federal customers.

“This exciting opportunity advances our strategy by building on our modernization capabilities, increasing customer access, accelerating growth and enhancing shareholder value…The financial benefits of acquiring Unisys Federal are compelling, including accretion of adjusted EBITDA margins, non-GAAP earnings per share, and cash generation,” said Keene.

Not only has Keene expanded the company through major acquisitions, but she also orchestrated multiple contract awards, driving SAIC’s revenue and increasing the company's influence in the sector.

Keene helped SAIC secure a potential $727 million contract to help the U.S. Air Force and Army migrate information technology applications to cloud infrastructure in January 2020. SAIC will update 800 mission apps, under the USAF-awarded Common Computing Environment contract, with Keene will continue to supervise the application of SAIC’s software and information technology modernization.

Under the contract, SAIC plans to leverage cyber, data analytics and cloud technology platforms to the project. The company proposed a comprehensive model meant to help military customers harness the full potential of cloud-based apps.

In September 2019, Keene orchestrated a potential seven-year, $950 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to deliver Federal Supply Group 80 products to the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps. The Federal Supply Group 80 encompasses adhesives, brushes, paints and sealers.

DLA will use fiscal 2019 through fiscal 2022 defense working capital funds on orders. The IDIQ runs through Sept. 5, 2022, followed by a pair of two-year options.

Keene has continually driven expansion for SAIC throughout her tenure with the company, proven by her efforts to secure critical contracts and purchases. She detailed her growth model in December 2019

Keene said that mission engineering, technology modernization and space systems market opportunities can provide a catalyst for long-term SAIC growth. She also noted that SAIC will continue to invest in bid and proposal development, talent and infrastructure as part of revenue growth efforts.

“This is not to say that we will forsake of contract opportunity, but these areas will draw increased focus and investment," Keene stated.

Executive Mosaic congratulates SAIC and Nazzic Keene for her 2020 Wash100 Award. Keene’s continued dedication to develop a comprehensive growth model and leadership in valuable acquisitions and contract awards proves that she is a notable figure in the GovCon sector and a leader in the industry.
