Phyllis Schneck
Phyllis Schneck, a veteran cybersecurity leader and two-time Wash100 winner, will assume the role of vice president and chief information security officer of Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), beginning on Oct. 14.
She will directly report to Shawn Purvis, corporate VP and president of Northrops enterprise services business, and oversee the companys cybersecurity policies and strategy, the company said Thursday.
Phyllis extensive experience as a senior leader in many government and private-sector cybersecurity positions will contribute greatly to Northrop Grumman’s capabilities in support of our nation’s military and its global security mission, Purvis said.
Schneck, who hold several technology and information security patents, most recently led the cybersecurity practice of IBMs (NYSE: IBM) Promontory Financial Group subsidiary. She previously worked at the Department of Homeland Security as deputy undersecretary for cybersecurity and communications and as chief technology officer for McAfees global public sector.
Schneck also served as national chairman of the board of the FBIs InfraGard program, board chair of the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance, vice chairman of the National Institute of Standards and Technologys advisory board on information security and privacy and as a member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency.
