Julie Bowen Promoted to Mitre SVP; Jason Providakes Comments

Julie Bowen

Julie Bowen, a vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Mitre, has been promoted to senior VP at the nonprofit research and development company.

Jason Providakes, president and CEO of Mitre, said Friday Bowen will oversee initiatives to expand outreach efforts, government relationships and strategic partnerships as well as engage with the board of trustees and manage risks associated with the firm’s work programs.

“Her legal expertise and insight into our sponsors’ challenges will help her make a significant impact in this expanded role,” Providakes added.

Bowen has been head of Mitre’s legal team since 2014 and provides advice on issues related to cybersecurity, intellectual property, contracting, national security and real estate.

She moved to MITRE as an associate general counsel in 2006 after she held several leadership posts at DHL Global Mail, QuadraMed and TREEV.

Bowen is a member of several associations that include the Association of Corporate Counsel and executive circle advisory board of the Northern Virginia Technology Council.
