Charles Davis, former president and CEO ofÂ Seabury Group’s global aerospace and defense consulting division, has joined L-3 CommunicationsÂ (NYSE: LLL) as senior vice president of strategy at the company’sÂ aerospace systemsÂ segment.
L-3 said TuesdayÂ he will report toÂ Mark Von Schwarz, president ofÂ L-3’s aerospace systems segment, Â in his new position.
“[Davis] brings operational expertise and acquisition insight that will provide strategic guidance to our aerospace systems business segment, â said L-3 Chairman and CEO Michael Strianese.
Strianese added Davis will work with Schwarz and the segment’sÂ management team to explore newÂ business opportunitiesÂ as well as alignÂ ISR, service-life extension and multi-mission aircraft offerings withÂ customer requirements.
Davis was promoted toÂ leadÂ Seabury Group’s global A&DÂ consulting divisionÂ in October 2015 after he previously served as executive VP of the same division at the professional services company.
Before he joined the private sector, DavisÂ served asÂ military deputy at the office of the assistant secretary of the Air Force for acquisition andÂ ledÂ research, development, test, production and modernization of the service branch’sÂ programs.
HeÂ also worked as commander of the air armament center and program executive officer for weaponsÂ atÂ Eglin Air Force Base in FloridaÂ as well asÂ commander of the electronic systems center and PEO for command, control and communications infrastructure and networks at Hanscom AFB in Massachusetts.
The 35-year veteranÂ completedÂ approximatelyÂ 3, 400 flying hours in 53 aircraft types as a test pilot and retired from military service in 2014 with the rank of lieutenant general.
