Zscaler (Nasdaq: ZS) has agreed to purchase Boston-based cybersecurity company Smokescreen Technologies for an undisclosed sum in a strategy to offer an integrated zero trust and threat defense offering.
San Jose, California-based Zscaler said Tuesday it expects to close the transaction during the cloud security vendor’s 2021 fiscal year fourth quarter.
Smokescreen designed its platform to help customers protect networks, applications and endpoints with deception decoys.
Jay Chaudhry, founder, chairman and CEO of Zscaler, said the company’s intention to extend its Zero Trust Exchange offering with active defense and deception technology aims to thwart sophisticated cyber threats.
Zero Trust Exchange is built to secure the connection between users, devices and apps.
Zscaler posted $176.4 in third quarter revenue, up nearly 60 percent from the prior year period and said the company expects revenue of $185 million to $187 million for its fiscal 2021 fourth quarter ending July 31.
