Xerox (NYSE: XRX) has been awarded a 10-year, $110 million contract to carry out managed print services at 3, 000 Agriculture Department locations around the world.
The company said Tuesday it will install and maintain 16, 000 printers and multifunction devices that feature Xerox ConnectKey technology at USDA sites as the agency aims to establish a print, copy, fax and scan environment with fewer devices and a low footprint.
The company will also employ its ConnectKey technology to migrate applications to digital workflows and use analytics in an effort to help reduce print volumes.
œWith Xerox™s technology and services, the USDA can reduce spending while modernizing their operations, improving security and freeing up vital IT resources to support mission-critical programs, said Mike Zimmer, president of U.S.-based large enterprise operations at Xerox.
Xerox will also perform help desk, maintenance, analytics and reporting services under the contract.
