Will Metts, a retired U.S. Navy rear admiral with more than 30 years of experience in the national security and defense landscape, has been appointed chief strategy officer at Aperio Global, GovCon Wire has learned.
Metts will be responsible for accelerating the growth and innovation initiatives of the strategic technology services company specializing in artificial intelligence-driven analytics, cloud computing and cyber operation.
Metts will manage Aperio Global’s long-term strategic planning and corporate development, including optimizing business performance and spearheading its growth in the domestic and international markets.
He will oversee the development of strategic projects and partnerships by leveraging Aperio Global’s technological offerings in line with the government’s initiatives revolving around AI, cloud computing, cyber operations and software modernization.
Before joining Aperio Global, Metts served as national security alliance executive at Amazon Web Services. He was also director of strategy for Northrop Grumman’s (NYSE: NOC) mission system sector.
Metts, during his military service, worked as director for intelligence of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and the Cyber Command and deputy director of the National Security Agency’s Tailored Access Operations and director for intelligence.
