Wiener Kernisan Promoted as President of Arianespace US Subsidiary; Stephane Israel Comments

Wiener Kernisan, formerly vice president of sales and marketing at Arianespace‘s U.S. subsidiary, has been promoted to president of the Arianespace Inc. business effective Sept. 26.

The France-based multinational company said Friday Kernisan will manage customer, industry and governmental relations at its Washington, D.C.-based operations as well as sales activities across the U.S. and Canada.

Kernisan has nearly 40 years of experience in the commercial launch and satellite sectors.

“I have every confidence that he will continue to deepen the relationships between us and our partners in the United States, ” said Stephane Israel, Arianespace chairman and CEO.

“The close ties he has developed with clients in North America have proven invaluable to Arianespace.”

Kernisan, who holds a bachelor’s degree in applied science and engineering from Polytechnique Montreal and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University, formerly held various roles with SES, Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and General Electric.

He will succeed former Arianespace Inc. president Clay Mowry.

Mowry is expected to join Kent, Washington-based aerospace manufacturer and spaceflight services company Blue Origin, Space News reported Friday.
