Sources said Biden is likely to name Easterly to the newly created role of national cyber director at the White House to help guide the current administration’s cybersecurity strategy and oversee digital security efforts of agencies.
Easterly is head of resilience at Morgan Stanley and previously served as deputy director for counterterrorism at the National Security Agency between 2011 and 2013. She served in the National Security Council as special assistant to the president and senior director for counterterrorism during the Obama administration.
Silvers, a partner at Paul Hastings, is expected to be named director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. He served at DHS as assistant secretary for cyber policy and deputy chief of staff.
Goldstein, vice president and head of cybersecurity policy at Goldman Sachs, is likely to be selected as head of CISA’s cybersecurity division. He served for four years at DHS’ National Protection and Programs Directorate, which is now known as CISA.
