VSE Corp. (Nasdaq:VSEC) has received a potential 16-month, $74 million delivery order under a foreign military sales Naval Ship Transfer and Repair contract for services to reactivate decommissioned U.S. Navy ships that will be transferred to Taiwan’s military.
Alexandria, Virginia-based said Thursday it will manage the industrial work, logistics and crew training work intended to reactivate the former USS Taylor and USS Gary and provide both ships with dry-docking selected restricted availability, hull, mechanical and electrical systems and combat systems.
“VSE and our entire N*STAR Team remain committed to providing superior engineering, logistics and training services to our foreign navy allies under our [Naval Sea Systems Command] FMS contract, said JR Brown, VSE federal services group president.
These delivery orders allow us to provide vital support to foreign navies to achieve their maritime mission requirements.
