Keith Nakasone, former deputy assistant commissioner of acquisition management within the information technology office at the General Services Administration’s Federal Acquisition Service, will join VMware (NYSE: VMW) in mid-June as a federal strategist, FedScoop reported Wednesday.
He brings 32 years of government service experience to his new position and his move to VMware comes as Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL) is spinning off the Palo Alto, California-based cloud provider.
In his new capacity, he will report directly to Peter Romano, senior director of strategy and innovation at VMware’s government, education and health care business, according to FedScoop.
He previously held positions at the Federal Communications Commission, the Defense Information Systems Agency and the Tripler Army Medical Center.
