Vertex Aerospace updated its website and corporate identity imagery and changed its name to The Vertex Company after it closed the acquisition of Raytheon Technologies’ (NYSE: RTX) defense training and mission critical solutions business on Dec. 6.
Ed Boyington, president and CEO of The Vertex Company, said in a statement published Friday the new company name seeks to reflect its strategy to deliver expanded technical and engineering platforms to clients within and outside the aerospace market.
“Our new offering, combined with our existing operations and maintenance services, positions The Vertex Company to address the entire lifecycle of major programs – from concept to sustainment,” added Boyington.
The Vertex Company will be composed of the aerospace and defense services and technology and training solutions divisions.
The Vertex ADS division will include the legacy aerospace business and provide aviation maintenance, assembly services, integrated supply chain platforms, worldwide contractor logistics support and systems integration engineering services.
The Vertex TTS division will include all businesses acquired through the recent transaction and offer training platforms, critical mission support and customized engineering systems for military, civil and commercial clients.
In September, Vertex announced that it agreed to buy Raytheon’s defense training and mission critical solutions business to expand its product and service offerings for defense, government and commercial customers.
