Vasu Murthy Assumes Chief Product Officer Post at Cohesity

    Vasu Murthy, an industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in software development, was named senior vice president and chief product officer at Cohesity.

    The artificial intelligence-powered data security provider said Tuesday Murthy most recently served as VP of products at Rubrik, where he was responsible for its core product, platform and technology partnerships.

    Earlier, Murthy held the same role for the analytics platform at Oracle, joining the company through its acquisition of DataScaler, an in-memory database provider he co-founded.

    “Vasu’s strong experience supporting organizations through significant growth and transformational change with a customer-first mindset, as well as his deep domain expertise, made him the perfect fit for Cohesity,” commented Sanjay Poonen, president and CEO of Cohesity.

    Building on his data protection, security and analytics experience, Murthy will drive Cohesity’s efforts to expand its AI-powered data security portfolio.

    “Vasu has consistently delivered exceptional results in his past experiences, shaping product portfolios to meet customer needs while driving business evolution and transformation,” added Poonen.
