Draken International has won a potential $280 million contract to provide “adversary” air aggressor services for the U.S. Air Force‘s combat air training efforts.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday Draken will deliver contractor-owned, contractor-operated tactical fighter jets designed for ADAIR, air-to-air tracking and targeting missions.
The company will also help the the 57th Adversary Tactics Group integrate sorties as part of the service branch’s aggressor force.
COCO flight operations will generate the aggressor sorties and support within-visual-range and dissimilar air combat maneuvers; beyond-visual-range engagements; operational test support; and multiship tactics; merges and flight.
Work will take place at Nellis AF Base in Nevada through December 2023.
The branch received two offers for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via a competitive acquisition process and will obligate $10 million in fiscal 2018 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
