General Dynamics’ (NYSE: GD) ordnance and tactical systems unit, Northrop Grumman’s (NYSE: NOC) defense systems sector and Major Tool and Machine have received 15-month contracts worth a cumulative total of $74M from the U.S. Air Force to provide BLU 111 warhead assemblies.
General Dynamics, Northrop and MTM will receive $26.5, $24.7 and $22.8, respectively, the Department of Defense said Friday. The BLU 111 is a multipurpose bomb designed for enhanced ballistics.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will obligate the full amounts from fiscal 2018, 2019 and 2020 procurement funds at the time of award. Work will take place in Indiana, Texas and Virginia through June 2021.
The three companies received the contracts under an engineering change proposal.
