Boeing (NYSE: BA) has received a potential $254.2 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite“quantity contract to test, repair and analyze the aircraft test articles for the U.S. Air Force™s F-15C and F-15E jets.
The Defense Departmentsaid Thursday Boeing will perform the testing part of the contract on tasks meant to help the military branch evaluate the outcomes of flying the FTA7 (F-15C) and the FTE10 (F-15E) aircraft beyond their original service life.
Boeing will also conduct repairs on test articles in the process of testing or after the post-cycling inspection as well as limited teardown and failure analysis on selected parts that sustain cracking during tests.
The contract contains a one-year base period of performance and four one-year ordering periods and work will occur in St. Louis, Missouri, through Aug. 31, 2021.
The Air Force released the solicitation for the contract in July last year and obligated $11.1 million at the time of award from its fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance funds.
