The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has awarded Unisys (NYSE: UIS) a potential five-year, $11.2 million contract to move approximately 4, 000 OCC employees to a cloud-based email platform.
Unisys said Thursday it will provide analysis, design, transition planning and development services intended to facilitate OCC’s enterprise-wide cloud migration effort.
Casey Coleman, vice president of Unisys’ federal civilian business group, noted the company intends to apply its previous experience in helping customer agencies adopt cloud technology at OCC.
Earlier this year, the Interior Department tapped the company to migrate the department’s SAP-based, financial management system to the cloud.
Unisys helped the U.S. General Services Administration implement a cloud-based email and collaboration platform in 2010 and subsequently supported similar projects at the Energy Department and National Archives and Records Administration.
