Unisys (NYSE: UIS) booked a potential five-year, $144M contract during the third quarter to help the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration migrate agency operations to a cloud computing environment.
The company said Monday it will work to accelerate NOAA’s adoption of multiple enterprise-level cloud platforms and secure the migation of applications and data through CloudForte managed services.
Work will involve delivering as-a-service offerings from Amazon Web Services, Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and Google.
“We look forward to assisting NOAA as it moves forward to modernize its IT operations in support of its crucial mission in support of climate science, the environment and the overall U.S. economy,” said Gary Wang, vice president of cloud, infrastructure and security services at Unisys’ federal business.
NOAA sought the firm’s technical assistance to deploy public cloud infrastructures to support mission and business functions.
According to the company, its CloudForte offering will help the agency manage security policies and compliance, monitor utilization of services across a network and validate application content.
