Techno-Sciences Inc., a developer of satellite-aided tracking systems, has purchased Orolia‘s global satellite search and rescue unit through a management buyout transaction.
Lanham, Md.-based TSi said Monday it made the acquisition to grow satellite SAR portfolio and market footprint. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
TSi has been conducting SAR technology research and development efforts over the past four decades. In 2011, the tech firm launched a medium-altitude Earth orbit system that works to monitor 75 percent of the planet’s surface.
The company also develops mission control center systems, satellite terminals and reference beacons as well as offer maintenance and engineering support services.
