The U.S. Transportation Command has chosen 17 companies to compete for global airlift task orders to transport government personnel and cargo under a potential five-year, $5.7B contract.
DoD said Friday the firm-fixed-price and indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers transport personnel, ancillary support, supplies and airlift equipment to support the travel of Department of Defense and federal officials through rotary and fixed-wing aircraft platforms.
Transcom will obligate funds from various government agencies on task orders encompassing domestic and international cargo transport, air ambulance and other delivery activities involving items such as U.S. mail and military Class IX supplies or repair parts and components.
Services will take place at domestic and international locations through Nov. 11, 2024.
