The U.S. Transportation Command has selected 14 companies to provide air cargo transportation services under a potential five-year, $227.9 million contract.
The indefinite–delivery/indefinite–quantity contract contains a one-year base period with a guaranteed minimum award to each contractor, The Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
Work covers door-to-door pickup and delivery; transportation; intransit visibility; payment system participation; and expedited customs processing of hazardous, perishable, narcotics and regular cargo shipments.
DoD noted the base period will run through Jan. 31, 2019, and work could extend through Jan. 31, 2023 if all options are exercised.
Transcom received 14 offers for the contract through a competitive procurement process.
