Timothy Grayson has assumed new responsibilities as senior vice president and chief architect of the defense systems sector at Leidos. He confirmed his role in a LinkedIn post Monday.
In his new post, he will support the defense systems sector leadership and help the company ensure that it can meet customers’ needs.
“We have the scale and proven track record to deliver, and yet have the mindset to lean forward and think differently about our business models and how those solutions are delivered,” he wrote on LinkedIn. “I’m really excited to be joining this incredible team!”
Meet Leidos’ New Defense Leader
Grayson brings to the role over 15 years of service in government and the defense sector. He previously served as special assistant to the secretary of the Air Force, where he contributed to identifying operational capabilities airmen and guardians need to prevail against adversaries. In the role, he was also involved in $40 billion in modernization investments.
Grayson also held leadership positions in major players across the government contracting industry.
Before Leidos, he served as president of Fortitude Mission Research, a consulting company he founded that specializes in security and intelligence strategy and technology analysis support. He also worked as a senior manager at Raytheon, a system engineer at Science Applications International Corp. and senior principle multidisciplinary system engineer at the non-profit MITRE.
The defense sector expert holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Dayton and a PhD in Physics from the University of Rochester.
