Battelle, Clinical Enterprise, PerkinElmer Awarded $650M in Federal COVID-19 Response Support Contracts

Battelle, Clinical Enterprise and PerkinElmer Health Sciences have received contracts worth potentially $650 million combined to help the U.S. government ramp up COVID-19 testing efforts nationwide.

The Department of Defense said Wednesday it issued the awards under a partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services to deploy test kits at domestic K-8 schools, congregate living facilities and underserved communities.

DOD’s Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense coordinated with Army Contracting Command in the acquisition process.

The two departments signed a memorandum of understanding to continue collaboration to boost the domestic industrial capacity for public health supplies and services.

The MoU is effective until Sept. 30, 2023.

On behalf of HHS, the Pentagon has implemented more than $26 billion in funds since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
