Thomas Bell, senior vice president of global sales and marketing at Boeing‘s (NYSE: BA) defense, space and security business, will rejoin Rolls-Royce this month as president of the aircraft engine manufacturer’s defense arm.
Rolls-Royce said Wednesday Bell initially joined the company in mid-2012 as president for its North American customer business and after that held the same position at the firm’s global defense aerospace business.
His tenure at Boeing has included leadership roles in areas such as strategy and business development, contracts and pricing, industrial participation and international business development.
Bell started his aerospace career at Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) human space flight segment.
Rolls-Royce noted it will put certain structures in place within the defense business in an effort to meet U.K. security restrictions since Bell is a U.S. citizen.
He will succeed Chris Cholerton, who will transition to a new role as president of Rolls-Royce’s civil aerospace business/
