AAI, a subsidiary of Textron (NYSE: TXT), has secured a potential $206.6 million foreign military sales contract with the U.S. Army to perform logistics maintenance work on Shadow RQ-7B unmanned aerial systems for Australia.
The Defense Departmentsaid Monday the Army Contracting Command received one bid for the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract and obligated $3.7 million at the time of award from the service branch’s “other” funds in fiscal year 2017.
Work will occur at AAI’s facility in Hunt Valley, Maryland through Oct. 31, 2017.
RQ-7B UAS is designed to offer reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition and force protection capacity for brigade combat teams during daytime or nighttime operations and limited adverse weather conditions.
