Tetra Tech Secures $1B State Department Contract for Conventional Weapons Destruction Support

The State Department has awarded Tetra Tech a potential five-year, $1 billion contract to provide global conventional weapons destruction support services for the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs’ Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement.

The department announced the award of the Worldwide Conventional Weapons Destruction indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract in a Sept. 5 notice published on SAM.gov.

According to a solicitation issued in September 2023, tasks under the single-award IDIQ contract may include planning, organizing, training, operating and deploying contracting parties to find, locate, safeguard or remove landmines, small arms and light weapons and providing explosive ordnance risk education support.

The request for proposals includes a seed task order for services required in Iraq.

The State Department offers CWD assistance to more than 30 countries worldwide to help prevent nefarious actors from obtaining weapons and ammunition and strengthen allies’ capability to manage arms securely and safely.
