Tetra Tech (Nasdaq: TTEK) has received a five-year, $125 million contract from the U.S. Agency for International Development to provide architecture-engineering services for USAID’s infrastructure projects in Afghanistan.
The company said Tuesday it will oversee construction activities and assist in quality assurance efforts to help USAID implement its water and sanitation, energy and infrastructure projects across the country.
Tetra Tech CEO Dan Batrack said the company has supported the USAID/Afghanistan mission over the past seven years.
Tetra Tech noted that infrastructure updates in Afghanistan continue as the country works to address a lack of regular maintenance, and limited investment in physical infrastructure.
USAID has invested nearly $17 billion in development programs in Afghanistan since 2002, the company added.
