Aubrey Merchant-Dest, federal chief technology officer at Symantec, has said government agencies should work to achieve interoperability to improve their security posture, address tool complexity, reduce costs and establish a framework to leverage automation.
He wrote that a zero trust approach œhinges on interoperability and works to facilitate mobility, which helps agencies build up the effectiveness and productivity of their workforce.
Zero trust is both a discipline and a platform and enables œagencies to implement a security architecture that controls access to web, cloud and on-premises applications by using built-in intelligence to enforce a dynamic security policy based on the user, the device, the geographic location and other factors, Merchant-Dest noted.
He discussed how a zero trust-based, software-defined perimeter could help agencies facilitate access to applications while ensuring security.
Merchant-Dest also described the company™s Integrated Cyber Defense Platform and how it could help agencies achieve automation and interoperability in the field of cybersecurity.
