SwRI Elevates James Keys to Applied Power Division VP

Southwest Research Institute has promoted James Keys Jr. from executive director to vice president of the nonprofit research and development organization’s applied power division.

He will supervise a team that supports electrical systems, kinetics and industrial technology research projects and will explore potential additional technical areas the division can focus on, SwRI said Monday.

“It is my goal to continue to expand our workforce, sustain their capabilities and diversify our technical fields in alignment with our clients’ strategic goal,” Keys noted.

In his previous capacity, Keys oversaw the development, assembly and delivery of electromechanical systems and pursued projects related to electronic and physics-based communications and independent technology verification and validation techniques for government and commercial customers.

SwRI provides R&D support to the Department of Defense through the GVSC Fuels and Lubricants Research Facility and operates the federally funded Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses.
