Penlink Adds National Security Leader Stu Shea as Advisory Board Member

Stu Shea, former CEO of Peraton and an eight-time Wash100 Award recipient, has joined the advisory board at Penlink.

Penlink said Monday that the experienced national security leader and expert will be pivotal in the execution of the company’s mission to deliver cutting-edge digital intelligence technology to customers.

Stu Shea’s Leadership Background

Shea brings to the advisory board decades of experience leading startups, employee-owned businesses, private equity-backed firms and Fortune 500 technology companies.

According to his LinkedIn, from 2017 through 2024, he served as board chairperson, president and CEO of Peraton, and was instrumental in growing the company’s revenue to $7.1 billion through the delivery of intelligence, defense, homeland security, cyber, space and public services technologies. He also led the acquisition of Northrop Grumman’s mission IT business for $3.4 billion and Perspecta for $7.1 billion.

Before Peraton, he held executive positions at Leidos, SAIC and Northrop Grumman. He also founded and currently leads the U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation, or USGIF, a nonprofit organization that aims to accelerate innovation within the geospatial intelligence community.

In addition to his contributions to industry, Shea also served as chairperson and a member of senior advisory groups for five directors of national intelligence.

The executive holds a bachelor’s degree in geological sciences from the University at Albany, a master’s degree in geography from the University of Kansas and an honorary doctorate of humane letters from George Mason University.
