Steve Schorer, Hector Cuevas to Speak at Potomac Officers Club's 2021 Industrial Space Defense Summit

Steve Schorer, chairman and CEO of Alion Science and Technology, and Hector Cuevas, an executive vice president at Parsons, will introduce keynote speakers during the 2021 Industrial Space Defense Summit on Tuesday. They will also serve as moderators of question-and-answer sessions during the virtual event.

Schorer (2021 Wash100 awardee) will provide an introduction of Gen. John “Jay” Raymond, chief of space operations at the U.S. Space Force and two-time Wash100 Award recipient, before Raymond delivers his opening remarks for the summit.

Cuevas will give the introduction speech for Vice Adm. Jon Hill, director of the Missile Defense Agency, before Hill delivers his closing keynote presentation.

The event’s panel discussion, themed “How Does the DOD Leverage Commercialization of Space,” will feature Col. Russell Teehan, portfolio architect director at the U.S. Space Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center; Payam Banazadeh, CEO of Capella Space; Shayn Hawthorne, space technology leader in Amazon Web Services‘ aerospace and satellite solutions division; and Rich Aves, executive vice president of space and geospatial solutions at Parsons.
