Greg Hayes, chairman and CEO of UTC, said Timm’s reputation as a leader and customer focus will help facilitate a smooth transition.
Timm brings to the role nearly 25 years of defense and aerospace industry experience. He helped field the first application of the Life Cycle Value Stream business framework and establish the foundation for the portfolio of information management services as head of the avionics business unit.
As special adviser, Ortberg will leverage his experience in mergers and acquisitions, industry relationships and aerospace to help the new entity’s leadership team identify future growth areas and develop its capabilities. The pending Raytheon-UTC merger is expected to close in the second quarter of 2020.
