Private equity firm Stellex Capital Management has acquired aircraft components manufacturing company RTC Aerospace with the intent to grow the latter’s footprint in the defense and aerospace markets.
Stellex said Monday it will work with Dave Herr, a three-decade industry veteran and previous Wash100 Award recipient, to shape a growth strategy for the acquired business.
RTC Aerospace develops and delivers precision manufacturing components to original equipment manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers for the production of aerostructures, missile assemblies, hydraulic housings and other aircraft parts.
Brad Hart, who has served as an RTC executive since 1986, will remain as an investor and a board member in the Los Angeles-headquartered company.
Law firm Greenberg Traurig and consulting firm Arena Strategic Advisors provided legal and due diligence services to Stellex in the transaction.
