The State Department has approved a potential $785 million foreign military sale of munitions and related sustainment and support services to the United Arab Emirates.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agencysaid Tuesday the deal covers GBU-10 guidance kits with Mk-84/BLU-117 bombs, GBU-12 kits with Mk-82/BLU-111 bombs, GBU-31V1 kits with Mk-84/BLU- 117 bombs, GBU-31V3 kits with BLU-109 bombs, FMU-152 fuzes and non-MDE munitions.
According to the agency, UAE plans to use the weapons to help coalition forces combat the Islamic State organization and other threats in the Middle East.
DSCA noted the U.S. and UAE will determine the contractor for the sale during procurement negotiations.
