Kuwait has requested follow-on logistics support for the country’s C-17 military transport aircraft from the U.S. government through a potential $342.6 million foreign military sales transaction.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agencysaid Friday the deal covers the provision of an additional three years of two C-17 support and equipment to the Kuwaiti air force, with an option to further extend contract work for another two years.
Boeing (NYSE: BA) provided logistics services to Kuwait’s C-17 fleet under a previous FMS contract that expired in September and DSCA noted the company provides in-country engineering technical services on a continuing basis.
The proposed follow-on sale will also include fixed installation satellite antenna upgrades along with installation and sustainment of Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast Out.
DSCA added Kuwait asked for continued access to the Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program that encompasses U.S. government and contractor support, modifications, retrofit, aircraft and engine maintenance, technical orders and publications, airworthiness certification, engine spares, quality assurance, inspection and on-site communications security support.
