The State Department has approved Singapore’s request to procure laser guided bombs, associated equipment and support services under a potential $415 million foreign military sales agreement.
Singapore’s request includes 40 GBU-10 Paveway II LGB units, 84 GBU-12 Paveway II LGB units, 60 FMU-152 or FMU-139D/B fuzes, AIM-120 telemetry kits and target drones, among others, the Defense Security Cooperation Agencysaid Wednesday.
The proposed deal also covers systems support; medical support; vehicle and ferry support; airlift and aerial refueling; maintenance, spare and repair parts; documentation; personnel training and training equipment; and other logistics and program support services.
DSCA noted the transaction will support Singapore’s pilot training and F-15 fighter aircraft inventory.
The FMS deal would not involve a prime contractor and the U.S. government will conduct competition for manpower support as needed.
Singapore would not require the deployment of additional U.S. government or contractor representatives to the country as part of the sale.
