Ukraine intends to purchase articles and services to sustain the HAWK missile system. This includes HAWK system spare parts, refurbishment and system overhaul of HAWK air defense fire units, five-ton cargo trucks, tool kits, test equipment, and support equipment.
The FMS request also covers spare parts and repair services for the MIM-23 HAWK missile, storage containers for spare parts and related equipment, technical documentation, training, U.S. government and contractor technical and field office support, and technical assistance, and other related elements of logistics and program support.
Through the proposed sale, Ukraine aims to strengthen its air defense capability by enhancing its capacity to meet existing and future threats. The potential deal will also involve the temporary assignment of five government and fifteen contractor representatives to Ukraine.
The DSCA notified Congress of the proposed deal Wednesday.
