The State Department has approved a potential $4 billion foreign military sale of Patriot Configuration-3+ equipped with the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System and related equipment to the government of Poland.
Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) will serve as the principal contractor on the possible deal that covers the provision of the Patriot surface-to-air missile system with IBCS engagement operation centers and IBCS integrated fire control network relays, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Monday.
Poland also asked to purchase network encryptors, system integration lab infrastructure, test tools and equipment, flight test targets, flight test infrastructure and equipment and logistics and program support services.
DSCA noted that the proposed FMS deal will enable Poland to build its missile defense capability and enhance interoperability with U.S. and allied forces.
Poland requires the deployment of 40 government representatives and/or 45 contractor representatives to support equipment deprocessing and fielding, system checkout and training.
