State Department Clears Poland’s $15B Purchase Request for IBCS-Equipped Patriot Missile System

The State Department has approved the government of Poland’s request to purchase a configuration of the Patriot missile system equipped with Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System and related equipment under a potential $15 billion foreign military sales agreement.

The deal covers the provision of the IBCS-enabled Patriot surface-to-air missile system with M903 launch stations, PAC 3 missile segment enhanced missiles, launcher interface network kits, lower tier air and missile defense sensors and large tactical power systems, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Wednesday.

Poland also requested spare parts, modification kits, communications equipment, technical support, engineering, systems integration and checkout and logistics services.

RTX (NYSE: RTX), Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) missiles and fire control business and other providers will serve as the principal contractors on potential FMS deal.

DSCA noted that the foreign buyer will use the IBCS-enabled Patriot platform to build up its missile defense capability and enhance interoperability with U.S. and allied forces.
