The State Department has cleared a $650 million foreign military sales proposal from Saudi Arabia for the procurement of Raytheon Technologies-built (NYSE: RTX) Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile systems and associated equipment.
Saudi Arabia asked to buy up to 280 AIM-120C AMRAAMs and 596 LAU-128 Missile Rail Launchers along with spare and repair parts, containers and weapon support systems, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday.
The proposed transaction also calls for U.S. government and contractor representatives to provide engineering, technical and logistical services necessary to support the medium-range missiles stockpile for the foreign country’s fighter aircraft fleet, which includes Eurofighter Typhoon and F-15 jets.
DSCA notified Congress of the potential arms sale Thursday and the agency noted that the deal would support foreign policy and national security efforts of the U.S.
