Space Force Releases Future Commercial Satcom Requirements for FY 2024

The U.S. Space Force has listed potential commercial satellite communications requirements for fiscal year 2024 and one of them is a follow-on for Inmarsat’s maritime services blanket purchase agreement in support of Department of Defense and federal agencies.

According to a sources sought notice posted Friday on SAM.gov, the forecast to industry is meant to help interested vendors prepare for solicitations and there are nine future requirements anticipated for the next 12 months starting October 2023.

Most notable is the potential seven-year, $750 million follow-on contract for military Ka-band global satellite service subscriptions. The Senior Leader Command Control Communications Systems – Airborne Broadband Aero Mobile Satellite Services – High-Capacity Crossover II indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is expected to be awarded in September 2024, with a request for quote releasing in February.

Another is the Sustainment Transport Comsatcom Network BPA worth $105 million at most. The follow-on will have a one-year base and four one-year options and will cover commercial Ku-band geostationary satellite bandwidth and power able to support users globally.

Other requirements are for comsatcom transponded capacity, comsatcom subscription services, complex comsatcom solutions, or CS3, and comsatcom satellite business solutions, or SBS.
