The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded Southwest Valley Constructors and BFBC separate contracts worth up to $787.75M combined to replace separation barriers along the states of Arizona and California.
SWVC won $646M to design and build a barrier wall replacement on the Tucson Sector, which covers parts of Arizona from the New Mexico state line to the Yuma county line, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
Separately, BFBC will construct a vehicle and pedestrian barrier in El Centro, Calif., and Yuma, Ariz., under a $141.75M contract.
The Pentagon expects both projects to wrap up by Jan. 31, 2020.
