Jim Edwards, former senior vice president of business development at SOS International, has been elevated to the role of chief growth officer at the Reston, Virginia-based aerospace, defense and government services integrator.
He is now tasked to bolster SOSi’s advanced technology portfolio to expand its presence in the defense, federal civilian and intelligence markets, the company said Wednesday.
Edwards initially joined SOSi in 2012 as a business development and capture manager. After four years, he pursued government service. Later, he returned to the private sector as senior director at DynCorp International and director at the former Perspecta company.
Edwards is a retired U.S. Army colonel who enlisted in 1987 and served for more than 25 years.
“Jim has been instrumental in putting SOSi on a steady upward trajectory. As chief growth officer, I’m confident he will continue to build on our success to pursue and win high-impact business opportunities and demonstrate the tangible value SOSi delivers to customers and partners,” SOSi CEO and 2024 Wash100 awardee Julian Setian remarked.
