Smiths Detection has concluded its acquisition of Baltimore, Md.-based pathogen detection technology provider PathSensors one month after the deal was initially announced.
Roland Carter, president of Smiths Detection, said in a statement released Tuesday the company considers the transaction as a "strategic step" to accelerate its biological threat response efforts.
Carter added that PathSensors has multiple assay products built to help customers identify potential biothreats in a matter of minutes.
