The U.S. Space Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center plans to award firm-fixed-price contracts to six small businesses to provide rideshare launch services.
A notice posted Tuesday says SMC intends to award the sole-source contracts under the Defense Production Act Title III program to ensure the availability of critical technology platforms and industrial resources in support of national defense missions.
Each contract will have a two-year performance period and cover two commercial rideshare launch missions with government payloads. Launch dates for government payloads will be based on the schedule of the vendors’ commercial customers.
