Ignacio Martinez, vice president of security, risk and compliance at Smartsheet (NYSE: SMAR), said cloud-based tools have helped government agencies transform workflows and enabled their employees to collaborate with colleagues as they telework during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Smartsheet datasets are housed in a secure, FedRAMP-authorized cloud environment, which assures agencies that they can adhere to the same security protocols from outside the office,” he added.
Martinez also discussed the efforts of agencies to maintain critical workflows and support their employees who are telecommuting through the adoption of cloud technologies and other tools.
“The pandemic has made government leaders aware of the need to provide tools that enable employees to keep critical workflows going during a crisis while at the same time helping agencies manage those employees remotely to keep teams aligned and productive,” he wrote. “The lessons agencies are learning now will go a long way toward helping them achieve their long-term modernization goals.”
