Sikorsky will conduct maintenance and overhaul work in support of the service branch’s UH-60 Black Hawk utility aircraft through June 28, 2027, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
Each order under the firm-fixed-price contract will determine work locations and funding.
The UH-60 helicopter is capable of supporting a variety of missions including combat assault, external lift, search and rescue, medical evacuation, firefighting as well as command and control. It is powered by the T700-GE-701D engine and features laser warning system, digital cockpit and Integrated Vehicle Health Management System, among others.
Aside from the recent contract award, Sikorsky and the Army also previously finalized a potential five-year, $4.4 billion contract for the procurement of up to 255 H-60M Black Hawk helicopters. The aircraft will be manufactured and delivered to the service branch and military allies through the Foreign Military Sales program.
